We're Hiring an Out-of-School Time Coordinator
Reports to: Community Partnership Director
Employment Status: Full-time (40 hours per week; 9 AM - 5 PM Monday - Friday), requires both remote and in-person activities
Location: Poughkeepsie, NY: Hybrid position - currently primarily remote Tuesdays and Fridays
Compensation: $60,000-65,000; Benefits and PTO Package
Application Deadline: Open until filled; applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis until the position is filled.
The Current Opportunity
The Out-of-School Time Coordinator plays an important role in advancing the out-of-school time components of The Wallace Foundation’s Advancing Opportunities for Adolescents (AOA) initiative, which represents the majority of this role’s focus during the 2026 Planning Year and subsequent pilot phases. The Coordinator works hand-in-hand with OST providers to support their engagement in AOA design workstreams, readiness for pilot participation, and access to the professional development and quality improvement supports that will strengthen middle-grade youth programming across Poughkeepsie.
Beyond the AOA, the Coordinator also supports the full Poughkeepsie Out-of-School Time (OST) Collaborative, a network of youth-serving organizations committed to providing high-quality programming that sparks youths’ interests from kindergarten through adolescence, builds skills, and expands opportunities for young people across Poughkeepsie.
Essential Responsibilities:
As the Out-of-School Time Coordinator, you will:
Support AOA implementation across the Planning Year and pilot phases, working under the direction of the Community Partnership Director to carry out the OST components of the initiative, with significant focus on the Youth Development Practices and Programs element.
Support OST provider engagement and readiness for AOA, helping providers understand initiative goals, participate in design workstreams focused on middle-grade youth, and prepare for pilot participation through readiness assessments and capacity-building; surface provider perspectives, barriers, and opportunities to the Community Partnership Director to inform pilot design decisions.
Coordinate AOA-related professional development for OST providers, including Wallace-supported Youth Development training (August 2026) and peer learning focused on middle-grade youth engagement, with the opportunity to grow into co-facilitation and delivery of select workshops (including Youth Work Methods modules) alongside the Community Partnership Director as experience and certifications allow. As available, additional certification and training will be provided.
Support program quality improvement for AOA-participating providers, coordinating Youth Program Quality Intervention (YPQI) assessment activities, helping providers use quality data to strengthen middle-grade youth programming, and connecting them with targeted technical assistance.
Support the Planning-Year AOA Youth Design Council, contributing to member recruitment and onboarding, ongoing engagement between meetings, and documentation of Council input for review and integration into pilot design.
Coordinate across AOA system partners, helping OST providers understand how their programming connects to navigation supports and other AOA elements, supporting information-sharing with school partners on the AOA target population.
Support the broader Poughkeepsie OST Collaborative, building trusted relationships with member providers, onboarding new members, providing them with professional development and quality improvement supports, and contributing to peer learning and joint programming opportunities under the direction of the Community Partnership Director.
Contribute to AOA learning, evaluation, and OST Collaborative communications, supporting the collection of provider perspectives and feedback, coordinating with the Civic Infrastructure and Research Manager on provider-level data needs, and contributing to AOA progress reports and Collaborative communications led by the Community Partnership Director.
All other duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor
